I'm Dani,
nice to meet you.
I attended the University of Michigan’s School of Information whose program focuses on the intersection of people, information, and technology. I received a Bachelor’s in Science in Information (BSI) specializing in UX Design in April 2023.
I aspire to use my UX skills to work as a UX/product researcher or designer in the future.
In my free time, I’m reading, hanging out with my friends, watching films, and playing with my cats.
How I got started in design
I previously studied Computer Science in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan. Although I enjoyed coding due to my love for solving complex problems, I recognized that I was more of a visual thinker who wanted to creatively express myself through design. More importantly, I realized that I'm someone who enjoys helping and empathizing with people, which is something vital to UX research/design. Due to these reasons, I decided that I wanted to study UX Design through the University of Michigan's School of Information and pursue a career in UX/product design.
What I've been working on
In my final semester of my undergraduate education, I took multiple UX-related courses. I took a studio course (under the instruction of Scott Martin whose experience includes being General Motors' Creative Director for In-Vehicle UI) on designing user interfaces for automotive and mobile spaces.
My final project for the class involved making a car UI North Star brand essence and vision guide which can be viewed here.
Additionally, I took in a course that involves using computational thinking and problem-based learning to create design prototypes through a variety of making tools (both hardware and software). My final digital project exhibit can be seen here.
